The passion poem
Lord my heart is full of darkness, full of sin.
Show me the place where the cross lies,
Where Jesus shed his red blood.
Show me your side where the spear pierced
You that your blood mixed with water flowed.
Show me the crown of thorns that once
Penetrated deep upon your head causing your
Red blood to flow down your bruised and
Battered face that took a fist of roman.
Despised and rejected by men.
Lord let me see the scars upon your back left by a whip.
Show me your hands and feet where the nails
Have left there blood stained mark.
You were stricken, smitten, aflicted and wounded
For ny transgression, crushed for my iniquities.
Let me see your dry and blistered mouth
That spoke of love and forgiveness.
Show me the love that held you to the cross
As i kneel before the cross seeking your love and forgiveness.
A place to rest my weary head.
A place to off load my heavy load.
I will never know how much it cost you
To see my see upon the cross.
